Evangelical Presbyterian Seminary

HISTORY: Established 1864 A.D in Ghana as an integral part of the pioneering work of the Norddeutsche (Bremen) Missionaries in founding the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in the Volta Region of Ghana. It has developed to become one (Green Hills) Campus of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College. Trainees became foots soldiers of the Missionaries and their core mandate was and remained extending the Good News to all people.

- Regular Diploma in Church Music for Music Department
- Inter-denominational Students for Music Program
- Regular Diploma (6 Semesters) in Pastoral studies
- Modular/Distance Programs for Theology Department: Diploma (4 Semesters)/Certificate (2 Semesters) in Lay Ministries & Leadership; In-service Training Programs in Leadership, Church Administration, Financial Management, Pastoral Theology, Ethics of Economic Life and Ecological Justice

VISION STATEMENT
We envision being the leading Christ–centered community where individuals who have the vocation are inspired not only by their education but imitate Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit at work in them. Seminarians are exposed to the highest level of Scholarship and equipped as leaders of Christ-like Character who are able to spearhead discipleship through Spiritual, Social and Economic Transformation in Ghana, Africa and the other parts of the world.

MISSION STATEMENT


  1. To unearth, Shape, Nurture and Form Agents who would Lead the great Commission.

  2. To give the needed Spiritual, Biblical, Theological, Leadership and Management competences to people who have responded to God’s invitation to be Agents’ of Salvation.

  3. To build the Human Resource capacity of the Churches who should serve as Evangelists, Pastors, Prophets, Ministers/Deacons, Catechists, Presbyters/Elders, and Lay Preachers.

  4. Make Seminarians critical and creative thinkers who will not compromise on moral and professional standards in responding to the Ecclesiological challenges concerning, Globalization, Free Market, Climate Change, poverty, marginalization, Ageing and other Social Challenges.

  5. Developing the Profile of Churches as Public and Social Advocates.
